Una mostra temporale di 13 opere e 13 artisti, visibile 24 ore su 24, 7 giorni su 7, presentate una dopo l’altra seguendo i cicli lunari.
L’undicesimo artista del ciclo “5779” è Alice Ronchi. “Il progetto Ufo è una famiglia di ‘sculture bidimensionali’ in alluminio nate da una serie di disegni a mano libera raffiguranti una bizzarra varietà di dischi volanti (UFO significa unidentified flying object,“oggetto volante non identificato”), ispirate ad un immaginario estetico degli anni 50. Ho disegnato queste forme con un gesto breve ed istintivo, imponendomi di non consultare nessun materiale visivo prima di iniziare l’intera serie di disegni, cercando cosi di lavorare e attingere a quello che era il mio personale immaginario ufo, e la mia interpretazione; quest’ultimo è un aspetto che mi ha sempre affascinato di questi oggetti magici, nessuno (o quasi) li ha mai visti dal vivo ma tutti noi racchiudiamo una nostra personale interpretazione visiva della loro particolare ‘fisionomia’ e siluetta”.

BUILDING è lieta di presentare “5779”, il progetto espositivo che inaugura la prima stagione di BUILDINGBOX, uno spazio indipendente facente parte della galleria, caratterizzato da un programma unico e autonomo. Il progetto inaugurale, a cura di Nicola Trezzi, ha aperto nella settimana di Rosh HaShana, il capodanno dell’anno 5779 secondo il calendario ebraico, da cui il titolo stesso del progetto.

In una vetrina visibile 24 ore su 24, 7 giorni su 7, su un calendario di 13 mesi, “5779” (un anno bisestile e ha avuto Adar Alef seguito da Adar Beth) è una mostra collettiva nella quale le varie opere d’arte sono presentate una dopo l’altra, piuttosto che una accanto all’altra: la mostra viene costruita sulla base del tempo.

A time-related exhibition of 13 artworks and 13 artists, on view 24/7, presented one after the other, following the lunar cycles.
The eleventh artist of the cycle “5779” is  Alice Ronchi.  “Ufo is a family of aluminum ‘bi-dimensional sculptures’ born from a series of free hand drawings featuring a bizarre variety of flying saucers (UFO stands for unidentified flying object) and inspired by the aesthetic imagery of the 1950s. I drew these forms with a gesture that is short and instinctive, I imposed to myself not to consult any visual reference before I started this entire series of drawings, therefore trying to work and source from what was my personal and imaginary UFO – my interpretation; this aspect has always fascinated me due to the fact that nobody (almost) ever saw these objects but everybody has his or her own personal visual interpretation of their particular ‘physiognomy’, their silhouette.”

BUILDING is pleased to present “5779”, the exhibition project opening the first season of  BUILDINGBOX, an independent space within the premises of the gallery, characterized by a unique and autonomous program. The inaugural project, curated by Nicola Trezzi, opened in the week of Rosh HaShana, the beginning of the year 5779 according to the Hebrew calendar, hence the title of the project itself.

In a window gallery that is on view 24/7, with a calendar of 13 months, “5779” (a leap year and has Adar Alef and its intercalary month Adar Beth) is a group exhibition in which the various artworks are presented one after the other, rather than one next to the other: the exhibition is rooted in time rather than space.
