Vistamarestudio is pleased to present Did you know you have a broken glass in the window? the first solo exhibition by Anna Franceschini at the gallery.

The title of the exhibition is inspired by a story that took place at Tiffany's, where a customer mixed up the whimsical window set of a broken glass by Gene Moore, historical designer of the brand from the 50s to the 90s, for an unnoticed damage.

For the occasion the artist will be presenting a new film following her research on the filmic representation of objects that investigates the concept of display and the idea of the shop window as a para-cinematographic device.

Anna Franceschini was born in 1979 in Pavia. In 2020 she will be included in exhibitions at Witte de With, Rotterdam and MAXXI, Rome. Her work has been exhibited in solo and group shows among others at Kunstverein, Dusseldorf; MAXXI and MACRO, Rome; Museion, Bolzano; CAC, Vilnius; Centre Pompidou, Paris; Les Abattoirs, Toulouse; Fiorucci Art Trust, London; Quadriennale, Rome. In 2019 she made the short film BUSTROFEDICO, a special commissioned project for the Italian Pavillion at the 58th Venice Biennale. She lives and works in Milan.

Vistamarestudio è lieta di presentare Did you know you have a broken glass in the window? la prima mostra personale in galleria di Anna Franceschini.

Il titolo della mostra trae spunto da un aneddoto di Tiffany’s, dove un cliente scambiò l’allestimento visionario di una vetrina con un bicchiere rotto realizzato da Gene Moore, storico designer del marchio dagli anni ’50 agli anni ‘90, per un danno passato inosservato.

In occasione della mostra l'artista ha realizzato un nuovo film, continuando la sua ricerca sulla rappresentazione filmica degli oggetti e sul concetto di esposizione e l'idea della vetrina come dispositivo para-cinematografico.

Anna Franceschini è nata nel 1979 a Pavia. Nel 2020 parteciperà alle mostre presso Witte de With a Rotterdam e MAXXI a Roma. Le sue opere sono state esposte in mostre personali e collettive tra cui il Kunstverein di Dusseldorf; MAXXI e MACRO a Roma; Museion a Bolzano; CAC di Vilnius; Centre Pompidou, Parigi; Les Abattoirs, Tolosa; Fiorucci Art Trust, Londra; Quadriennale a Roma. Nel 2019 ha realizzato il cortometraggio BUSTROFEDICO, progetto speciale commissionato per il Padiglione Italia della 58. Esposizione Internazionale d’Arte della Biennale di Venezia. Vive e lavora a Milano.
