Dal 4 al 14 aprile BUILDING presenta Mīror, un progetto del collettivo di design The Ladies’ Room - Ilaria Bianchi, Agustina Bottoni, Astrid Luglio, Sara Ricciardi - pensato per gli spazi della Galleria Moshe Tabibnia (via Brera 3, Milano) e realizzato in collaborazione con il Centro Studi Moshe Tabibnia. Per il secondo anno consecutivo, in occasione di miart e del Salone del Mobile, BUILDING ha scelto di collaborare con The Ladies’ Room, il cui lavoro si basa sulla condivisione di esperienze collaborative multidisciplinari, sperimentali, fluide, attraverso cui riflettere sul design contemporaneo.

Mīror è un’installazione di tre sculture riflettenti che nasce dall’esplorazione dell’immagine in un gioco di illusioni ottiche e di alterazione della percezione, alla ricerca di un preciso istante, quello in cui stupirsi scoprendo una forma, un dettaglio, un vuoto, un riflesso o se stessi. Lo spettatore diventa protagonista attivo nello spazio, invitato a entrare nell’orbita dell’oggetto per scorgere la propria immagine, ricomporre il proprio ritratto, ammirare le opere circostanti da nuove prospettive per poi tornare a perdervisi. Tre specchi ma anche tre spazi vuoti e tre forme geometriche da fruire attraverso diversi angoli di riflessione.

Mīror è un progetto inedito che dialoga con una selezione di opere tessili create da diverse artiste del ventesimo secolo, scelte da The Ladies’ Room in collaborazione con il Centro Studi Moshe Tabibnia. A seguito della pubblicazione Intrecci del Novecento. Arazzi e tappeti di artisti e manifatture italiane e dell’omonima mostra organizzata presso la Triennale di Milano (ottobre 2017), la Galleria Moshe Tabibnia torna a riflettere su alcune delle opere più significative del ventesimo secolo della propria collezione.

Riflessi negli specchi di The Ladies’ Room lo spettatore ammirerà i vortici di colore dei raffinati arazzi francesi di Sonia Delaunay, i tappeti di Fourgeaud, le vivaci geometrie dei tappeti di Nathalie Du Pasquier, le tarsie in panno futuriste di Beatrice Santiccioli e le liriche composizioni a piccolo punto di Niki Berlinguer e Anna Maria del Drago.

BUILDING, nel cuore di Milano, è concepita con l’obiettivo di esplorare vari aspetti di ricerca artistica e creare una trama composta da diverse forme di espressione. Si tratta di uno spazio espositivo che ospita arti visive, performative e applicate, installazioni e design. Lo scopo di BUILDING non è solo quello di evidenziare il lavoro di artisti noti a livello internazionale, ma anche di dedicare spazio a progetti ad hoc che coinvolgano talenti emergenti.

La Galleria Moshe Tabibnia è riconosciuta a livello internazionale per essere il punto di riferimento dei maggiori collezionisti di tutto il mondo per la ricerca, l’acquisizione, lo studio e la valorizzazione dei tessili antichi di alta epoca, operando da oltre 25 anni in questo settore. La sua attività si distingue specialmente per l’attenzione dedicata alla ricerca scientifica, condotta in collaborazione con istituzioni ed università, in Italia e nel mondo, e per l’impegno rivolto alla divulgazione della cultura legata all’arte tessile.

From the 4th to the 14th of April BUILDING presents Mīror, a project by the Design Collective The Ladies’ Room - Ilaria Bianchi, Agustina Bottoni, Astrid Luglio, Sara Ricciardi - designed for the spaces of the Gallery Moshe Tabibnia and realized in collaboration with the Moshe Tabibnia Research Centre. For the second consecutive year, on the occasion of miart and the Salone del Mobile, BULIDING continues his collaboration with The Ladies’ Room, whose work is based on the sharing of collaborative, multidisciplinary, experimental and fluid experiences, which lead to a consideration on contemporary Design.

Mīror is an installation of three reflective sculptures based on a study of image, optical illusions and altered perceptions. Mīror explores the specific moment in which one is captivated by a form, a detail, a reflection or one's own image. Visitors are invited to engage with the space, gravitate around the object presented to take a look at themselves and reconstruct their own portrait, admire the sculptures from different perspectives and then be absorbed by the installation once more. Three mirrors, but also three empty spaces and three geometrical forms, to experience and discover from different angles.

Mīror is a new project that dialogues with a selection of textile works created by various twentieth century female artists, chosen by The Ladies’ Room in collaboration with the Moshe Tabibnia Study Center. Following the publication Intrecci del Novecento. Tapestries and carpets by Italian artists and manufacturers, and the exhibition of the same name staged at the Triennale di Milano (October 2017), the Gallery Moshe Tabibnia now presents some of the most significant twentieth century works in its collection.

Reflected in the mirrors designed by The Ladies’ Room, visitors will be able to admire the colorful swirls of the refined French tapestries by Sonia Delaunay, the rugs by Yvonne Fourgeaud, the vibrant patterns of the carpets by Nathalie Du Pasquier, the Futurist fabric inlays by Beatrice Santiccioli and the poetic small-scale compositions of Niki Berlinguer and Anna Maria Del Drago.

BUILDING, in the heart of Milan, has been created with the aim of exploring aspects of artistic enquiry and weaving a texture made up of different forms of expression. It is an exhibition space that will host visual, performing and applied arts, installations and design. BUILDING’s purpose is not just to highlight the work of well-known international figures, but also to dedicate space to ad hoc projects involving emerging talents.

Gallery Moshe Tabibnia is internationally renowned for their activity in the field of antique textile art, and has become a reference point for major collectors around the world. Boasting more than twenty-five years of activity steered toward searching, acquiring, studying, and promoting antique textile artefacts.  The gallery stands out for having fostered scholarly research in collaboration with universities and other institutions in Italy and abroad. Another distinctive trait of the gallery is their commitment to sharing a knowledge of textile art.
